Could somebody please tell me what I need to adjust, and how, and where I find it, to stop the THUD when I go into reverse gear on a ZF22 Auto gearbox please?

After you've selected reverse and heard the thud, with the brakes on select neutral then reverse again. Do you get the thud again? Do you get a thud when selecting drive after reverse? The reason I ask this is because it could be somewhere else in the drivetrain
Hi I think that Niloc was trying to suggest a way to test the car to see where the noise was coming from. My car was a bit noisy/jerky going from forwards to reverse and you had to be completely stopped and quite deliberate about what you were doing to keep things smooth. The thud you have is probably the slack in the propshaft, differential, driveshafts acting on the wheels. Any wear will make more noise but if anything is very bad you will get other symptoms like vibration etc. If you have any vibration in reverse the propshaft center bearing carrier might need replacing, something I had to do before I fitted the manual gearbox etc in my car.
Thanks Niloc and Steve. When I bought the car a member predicted the box would do this without even seeing the car and mentioned something about adjusting something (prop not mentioned) but for the life of me I cannot remember what
