Stromberg vs SU's

Can anyone tell me what the highs and lows are of the two carburetors in twin format are. I replaced my SU's with Strombergs when I didn't know much (I was convinced by my mechanic). I'm now contemplating as to whether I should change my other setup which is a single SU on a B18 to a single Stromberg. Some input would be greatly valued! :) Also, I've been told that a twin Stromberg setup on a B18 won't work. Is this true?

I was a motor engineer specialising in carburettors for many years. In comparison to S.U. Strombergs don't get a look in. Most spares for S.U. are still avaliable. Webers are a different kind of carb, probably the best carb in the world (IMO) when they are correctly set-up,nothing comes near. BUT they do need skilled attention, far more so than S.U. For most usage I would recommend S.U. Pookie
